Cheerleading

Cheerleading is more than choreographed routines with elements of tumbling, dance, jumps, acrobatic stunts and fast-pace music. All above it’s a lot fun when cheerleaders, ROTC-teams and squads will entertain the audiences at the different sports venues and cultural stages throughout the City of Cologne.

Even more exciting will be the cheerleading-tournament. In 2009, registered participants will also be able to register for the competition and receive music and detailed rules. Participating groups will be asked to show a compulsory program with mandatory choreographic elements and music. They will also present a free program of specified length, with music and choreography to be chosen by the group.

Because the number of participants is limited, we strongly encourage everyone interested to register as soon as possible. Cheerleading groups have to consist of at least five members. In summer 2009 groups interested in participating in the Cheerleading-Award will receive a web link that provides music for download and also detailed information about minimum requirements for the compulsory program and the free program, along with technical details such as the size of the stage.
