Earning Points

As a member of Team Oregon 2010, you can earn points that you can redeem for travel and lodging expenses at the Gay Games 2010 in Cologne, Germany. We want to make sure that the members who give the most toward our effort receive the most reward.

When we have a total dollar amount raised, Team Oregon 2010 will divide the amount by the total number of points awarded to ALL Members. You will then be allocated travel and lodging money based on the total points you earned. Here are some stipulations about the points.

You must be a MEMBER of Team Oregon 2010 to earn points. No points will be awarded for activities prior to becoming a member.
Points are non-transferable.
Team Oregon 2010 members who are not planning to attend the Gay Games may not transfer their points to specific athlete members.

How Do You Earn Points?

Members can earn points by participating in Team Oregon 2010 activities and by earning money for the organization.

Activities. This organization requires a gigantic volunteer effort. There are any number of ways you can help out. Once you are a member, you will be invited to assist in numerous ways.
- Help with everyday activities like updating the website or communicating with people about Team Oregon 2010.
- Take on a specific responsibility, like Outreach, Fundraising, Location Captain or any other regular task. You can even be a member of the Organizing Committee!
- Create your own activity. Get Team Oregon 2010 Board Approval to earn points for your own fundraising, sponsorship or membership recruitment activity. CONTACT us with your ideas.
- You earn 10 points for every hour you volunteer with Team Oregon 2010. Be sure to get approval for any activities you undertake.
Earn Money. Earn 5 points for every $20 you bring into the organization.
- If you recruit a new member, you earn 5 points for the $20 he or she pays to join.
- Point us to a potential sponsor and earn 5 points for every $20 they pay.
